The Materials Science Program at the University of Delaware is continuing to expand and invites applications for faculty positions in Electronic Materials and Devices, Polymers, Inorganic Materials or Biomimetics. The current openings are tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level but a tenured appointment at a more advanced level will be considered depending on the qualifications of the candidate.
The successful candidates must have a PhD degree in materials science or related field, be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in materials science and be willing to develop a world-class research program which includes collaborations with existing materials-based groups within the university and in local industry. It is anticipated that the candidate would be an effective communicator and enjoy teaching and mentoring students. Demonstrated independence in the choice of research areas as evidenced by quality publications and the submission of a clear research plan is an important part of the evaluation process.
